NDO – The Vietnam General Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and the Vietnam Aviation Corporation, held a ‘Roadshow’ programme on August 6 in Jakarta, Indonesia to promote tourism in Vietnam.

The programme aims to introduce the land, people, culture and tourism services of Vietnam to Indonesia, as well as offer a chance for travel businesses from the two countries to meet and seek co-operation opportunities.

Over the recent years, Vietnam and Indonesia have co-operated effectively in the field of tourism, particularly in promotion, investment, human resources development, information exchanges and developing tourism services.

Indonesia has been identified as one of the key markets for increasing tourism by Vietnam’s tourism sector.

Vietnam has become a market that Indonesia and many other countries pay much attention to thanks to the rapid increase in the number of tourists travelling abroad over the past years. In 2013, 43,249 Vietnamese people travelled to Indonesia.

Addressing the programme, a Vietnamese representative emphasised that Vietnam was happy to welcome visitors from Indonesia, and would provide the best tourism services possible for visitors.

The same event was organised in Surabaya, Indonesia to introduce popular destinations in Vietnam, including Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Son Doong, Phong Nha, Hue, Sapa and Ha Giang.
