Danang has issued a code of conduct in the tourism industry to maintain its reputation as a friendly and safe destination for visitors.
Tourists in Danang City
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the central city requires individuals and organisations working in the tourism sector to respect visitors, instruct and help them in an enthusiastic way.
Local tourism service providers must not use phones, smoke or chew gum when they are serving tourists. They are required to say “hello”, “sorry”, “thank you” and “nice to see you again”.
Tourism service prices must be listed clearly and in line with the market. Touting and rudeness are not acceptable.
For residents in Danang, the code says, they need to wear suitable clothes. Local people must be friendly and helpful to travellers, especially the elderly and young, and the disabled.
Danang is rated the most livable city in Vietnam by many prestigious travel websites, including TripAdvisor. It is Vietnam’s tourism hub, with a reputation for being safe, friendly and honest.
In 2015 so far, Danang attracted 3.8 million visitors, up 21.9 percent on a year earlier. This year, the city expects to lure 4.43 million, including 1.15 million international travellers.
