VietJet Air wins the Gold Award 2015 from PATA

The first privately owned airline in the country VietJet Air has won the Gold Award 2015 from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).

The award highlights Vietjet’s innovative and meaningful marketing campaigns, which have greatly inspired and contributed to tourism development in the Asia-Pacific region. The award committee was impressive with its slogan “With Vietjet, Saigon is closer” to introduce both the airline and Ho Chi Minh City.

Outperforming 269 entries from 83 travel and tourism organizations worldwide, Vietjet becomes the first ever prize winner of PATA from Vietnam. The award ceremony will take place at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center (BIEC) on September 8, 2015 during the PATA Travel Mart 2015 in Bangalore, India.

Among its 36 Gold Awards, PATA will present up to four Grand Awards for best of show entries in the following broad categories: Environment, Education and Training, Heritage and Culture and Marketing Campaign.

Vietjet has also been honored with many more national and international awards including Asia Pacific Stevie Awards 2015, Top 5 Best New Routes launched around the world, The Airline with Most Culturally Creative and Entertaining In-flight Programs, and Golden Star Award for Quality (awarded by Business Initiative Directions in Geneva, Switzerland). Furthermore, the airline earned a Merit of Distinction from Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

PATA Gold Award is a prestigious annual prize in tourism that is recognized all around the world. Since its foundation in 1951, PATA has been contributing significantly to regional tourism. As a non-profit organization, PATA has carried out important research and hosted many impressive events and meetings for its members, including 87 governmental agencies, 24 international carriers, airports and sea-freighters, and 59 educational institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
