(VOV) – Thousands of runners and fans are expected to scale the spectacular mountain trails surrounding Sa Pa this coming September 26-27 for the third running of the Vietnam Mountain Marathon (VMM).
In this edition, organizers have unveiled that four different race routes will be available: 10km, 21km, 42km and 70km. The marathon race day is September 26 while the 10km run will take place September 27.
Each route will encompass challenging climbs, exhilarating descents and a true glimpse of local life as the small dirt road trails take runners through thousands of yellow rice fields dotted with water buffalo and ethnic minority villages.
This year’s edition will find Sanya Khanchai winner of the 100 km solo at the North Face 100 Thailand 2015 marathon along with other high profile athletes from 40 countries around the globe putting Vietnam’s toughest marathon to the test.
