VIP tickets to the upcoming friendly match between English Premier League club Manchester City and Vietnam’s national football team in Hanoi will cost VND1.8 million apiece, the Vietnam Football Federation said.

Fans can also buy tickets at the prices of VND1.5 million, VND1 million and VND600,000.

The game will be played at My Dinh Stadium on July 27, and broadcast live by Vietnam Television (VTV). Tickets can be purchased at the stadium or by calling (04)1080, the VFF said. The agency will announce the ticket selling date soon.

Prior to this game, the record ticket price for an international friendly in Vietnam was VND1.5 million apiece, set in the Vietnamese national team’s match against Arsenal, another Premier League team, in 2013.

All the tickets are being printed in Thailand and will be delivered to Hanoi on July 17, according to the VFF.

Coach Toshiya Miura have considered summoning about 25 Vietnamese players to prepare for the match, including such local stars as Cong Vinh, Huy Toan, Mac Hong Quan and Thanh Luong.

Cong Phuong and Van Toan, who performed well at the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore last month, may also be named to the team.

Vietnam Television (VTV) bought the right to broadcast live the match for only VND50 million (US$2,230). The state-owned TV channel can broadcast live any match of the national team inside Vietnam for the same fee, according to an agreement it signed with VFF.
