Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vasilievich Vnukov (L) presents the Russia Friendship Order to Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh.

NDO – Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) Hoang Tuan Anh, and Deputy Head of the of the Commission for External Relations under the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Pham Xuan Son have been awarded with the Russia Friendship Order.

The accolades were presented to the Vietnamese officials at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 11 to mark Russian Independence Day (June 12).

Speaking at the event, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vasilievich Vnukov said that Minister Hoang Tuan Anh has tirelessly worked in promoting an image of Vietnam with world-recognised cultural and historical heritages, attracting scores of visitors from Russia and throughout the world to the country.

The Minister has also contributed to consolidating Russia – Vietnam relations in all fields under the competence of the MoCST, he added.

He stressed that Russia is always ready to support and co-operate with Vietnam in all fields in a bid to foster the long-standing traditional relations, friendship and co-operation between the two countries.

Expressing his thanks to the Russian Government for granting the order, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh affirmed that Vietnam always treasures the traditional friendship with Russia and has been making every effort to develop the Vietnam – Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

He expressed his hope that with the strong determination of both countries’ leaders and people along with opening opportunities, the bilateral relations will continue to be strengthened in a more effective and substantive manner for the mutual interests of the two peoples, and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world at large.
