Vietnam wins AFC U14’s girl regional championships 2015 Related image(s)
The host Vietnam came from behind to win 2-1 over Thailand in the final match of the AFC U14’s girls regional championships 2015. After beating U14 Myanmar rivals in a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out to advance to the final match, the U14 Vietnamese squad led by coach Nguyen Tien Minh met Thailand on June 28th in Hanoi. The first half ended scoreless. In the 37th minute, Noinueai (No 13) opened the game for Thailand. Later on, coming from a free kick in the middle area, Thu Huong (No 12) got ball in the penalty area and delivered a decisive kick to score and balance the match in the 58th minute. She then provided a winning ball to Van Su (No 16) on the right swing, finishing the game 2-1 for Vietnam in the 66th minute. In the match for third place, U14 Myanmar easily beat U14 Malaysia for a resounding 6-2 victory and the bronze medal.
