Four Vietnamese athletes have earned the right to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics slated to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5-21, according to General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

They include two marksmen Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, and track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Huyen.

Vietnam targets to earn 10-15 Olympics tickets to participate in events- shooting, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, fencing, and weightlifting.

Previously, Nguyen Thi Huyen made her to the list of gold medallists in athletics at a Southeast Asian (SEA) Games for the first time with a record-breaking victory bringing home 2 gold medals in the women’s 400m hurdles event.
