Chairman’s directions on juvenile marriage control

Chairman of Quang Ngai provincial people’s committee has recently issued direction documents about juvenile marriage control in the province. ​

Accordingly, Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism is directed to cooperate with departments and associations related to activities promote information , communication and education in diverse forms , easy to understand , easy to remember in order to raise awareness , eliminate the practice backward lead to marriage, traditional marriage inbreeding among the people, especially for ethnic minorities in mountainous districts .

Department of Health continues to promote implementation of the strategy of Population and Reproductive Health phase 2011 – 2020, which focus on intervention program replicated reduce child marriage and marital blood access, priority areas of co ethnic minority, with a population of less, and the risk of population decline in quality.

It is also requested to strengthen communication and provide information on the impact of child marriage and marital blood access for people’s health; reproductive health care, family planning.

Department of Education and Training is directed to increase education and awareness-raising for students of the Law on Marriage and Family, education, reproductive health, child marriage and the marriage of close blood as well as to seriously mobilize children to go to schools and prevent them from leaving schools.

Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is directed to cooperate with the People’s Committees of districts and cities to implement well the policies and programs on social security; to adjust and expand aid for poor children in ethnic minority areas; to ensure families in ethnic minorities accessing to basic social services of education, health and housing.

The people’s committee of districts and city are requested to direct relevant units and communes, wards and towns to strengthen propagandas and education policy of family law, advocacy and remover customs, outdated practices on marriage and family.
