PANO – Family, relatives and locals in the young Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien’s homeland always exude an excited and proud air whenever they see their girl competing in the green race of the ongoing 28th Southeast Asian Games (28th SEA Games). They gathered in the same spirit with every Vietnamese perso across the country to encourage the young talent.
Born in Giai Xuan commune, Phong Dien district, Can Tho City, the 18-year-old has just continued her impressive performance at the 28th SEA Games in Singapore with two new records in the women’s 200m butterfly and the 200m freestyle, contributing six gold medals in total to Vietnam’s tally at this year’s regional event.
