(VOV) -The Vietnam Tennis Association in Russia (VITAR) has unveiled plans to organise an Open Summer Tennis Tournament on June 30-31 to promote the sport among Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Russia.
The annual event, the seventh of its kind, is also expected to attract a large number of OVs athletes living and working in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine.
At the tourney, players will compete in men and women’s singles, men and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The tournament has total cash prizes of US$6,800 (nearly VND150 million).
The tournament aims to strengthen solidarity among the OVs community in Europe and raise funds to construct a VITAR multifunctional sports complex in Russia.
