There remain many limitations in cultural and sport institutions for workers and laborers in industrial parks.
A delegation of the Vietnam General Labor Confederation (LC) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on the morning of April 2 worked with the Hai Duong Provincial LC on enhancing the Party’s leadership in improving cultural and spiritual lives of workers and laborers (W&L) in industrial parks (IPs) and processing zones.
There are 133 production and trading enterprises with over 75,000 W&L in IPs in the province.
As surveyed by the Provincial LC, there remain many limitations in cultural and sport institutions for W&L in IPs. The construction of most material facilities for cultural and sport activities was invested in by the enterprises themselves.
To date, only 10 enterprises have had shared bookcases. 50 playgrounds for table tennis, football, tennis, etc. have been built by enterprises. 15 enterprises have formed performance teams of W&L.
Remarkably, 25% of surveyed W&L said that the enterprises they were working for did not organize any cultural or sport activity…
At the working session, the Provincial LC proposed the Central Party Committee’s Secretariat to soon issue a directive on “enhancing the Party’s leadership in improving cultural and spiritual lives of W&L in IPs and processing zones”.
There should be guidelines and supplementation of specialized trade union staffing at enterprises with many W&L. Some pilot housing areas and cultural and sport centers should be constructed in IPs or residential areas near IPs, etc.
