The Co Lam Pagoda-Hoi Ton relic is located in an area of about 1ha, facing the South East, leaning against Son Cha mountain, with the charming water and mountainous terrain. It is one of the first ancient temples in Phu Yen province formed in the seventeenth century, also the venue of Vietnamizing the Chinese Rinzai Zen to the Southern Rinzai Zen and founding Lieu Quan Rinzai Zen. Abbot of Lieu Quan is the first enlightened monk in Phu Yen province with the important role of developing Buddhism in the Southern region in general and in Phu Yen province in particular.


Through the ruins, relics have represented that the architectural work of Co Lam pagoda – Hoi Ton is the typical tower tomb in Nguyen Dynasty. The contours, patterns, reliefs, carves on the tower tomb is subtle, astute, expressing the philosophy of Buddhism. The burial site is also the home containing many cultural layers of India, Cham …, which shows the exchange, acculturation in the people’s spiritual life at that time. Currently, the monument has existed in the form of war ruins due. On December 31st, 2014, PPC issued a decision to recognize Co Lam pagoda-Hoi Ton is the provincial historical-cultural relics.
