Sea and Islands Week 2015 will be held in Quang Ngai province

Deputy Minister of Resource and Environment Ministry Chu Pham Ngoc Hien and his delegation on April 08 visited and worked with Quang Ngai province’s leader on the plan of Sea and Islands Week 2015. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Truong Tho received the delegation. ​

Accordingly, the Week will be held at national level in Quang Ngai province from 05 to 07 June.

The theme of the Week is “Green oceans, green planet” that following spirit of the World Ocean Day 2015-2016 with the theme of “Healthy oceans, healthy planet”.

According to the plan, various activities will be organized in responding to the Week including Meeting program welcoming the World Ocean Day and Week for Vietnam’s Sea and Islands 2015 (at My Khe beach, Quang Ngai city); voluntary youth with clean beach environment and planting green tree; art performance and photo exhibition on sea and islands; etc.

Besides, a conference on promoting sea and island economic investment and development will be organized at the event.

According to the organizers, the event aims to present and honor the cultural values and tourism potential of the country’s sea and islands, increase the people’s awareness about the strategic position of Vietnam’s sea and islands towards the cause of national construction and protection; call for investment to develop the economy in sea and island localities.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Resource and Environment, the High Command of Coast Guards, the High Command of the Navy, the High Command of Border Patrol Directorate and Quang Ngai province.
