Singaporean police are investigating the “unnatural” death of a Vietnamese woman who is believed to have fallen down from an elevated highway on Tuesday.
The Strait Times reported the 25-year-old woman and a man in his 20s were traveling on a motorcycle on West Coast Highway, which is a viaduct running above Telok Blangah Road, when she fell down onto the road.
She reportedly landed in front of a bus stop near Seah Im Food Center.
Local police received a call for help at around 3:20 p.m.
The Singapore Civil Defense Force, also known as SCDF, was informed at the same time and sent an ambulance to the scene.
When police arrived, the woman was lying motionless and pronounced dead. The man refused to be taken to hospital, said an SCDF spokesman.
The Singapore Police Force told Thanh Nien that the body of the woman, who has yet to be identified, was brought to Singapore General Hospital.
A police officer said the death was “unnatural” and police are still investigating.
He said the police do not have detailed information about the woman and the man at the moment.
