PANO – Major Phan Manh Hung, Head of the Drug-related Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An province’s Police Department and Captain Le Trung Thanh, the captain of ship CSB 4033 of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command under the Vietnam Coast Guard have been named as the most outstanding Vietnamese young faces in 2014.

The list was announced on March 18th in Hanoi by the Council for Vietnamese outstanding young face awards in 2014.


Eight other outstanding faces are Pham Tuan Huy, a student of the University of Natural Science under the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, who won two golds at the International Math Olympiad in 2013 and 2014; weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan who set 11 new records at home and abroad; pianist Quach Hoang Nhi, a fifth grader who has bagged home tens of international medals; Dr. Nguyen Ba Hai, the author of the digital glasses for people with visual impairment; Trang Seo Pao, a native of H’mong ethnic minority group, who has helped improve locals’ living standards; fisherman Le Van Sang who has actively contributed to protecting the traditional fishing grounds and national sovereignty; Dr. Phan Minh Liem, the President of the Graduate Student Association of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre since 2010; and Nguyen Van Son, the Director of Thai Nguyen province Branch of the military-run telecom group Viettel.
