The well-known German oboist Stefan Schilli
NDO – The well-known German oboist Stefan Schilli from Munich has been invited to join a concert at the Hanoi Opera House, No 1 Trang Tien Street on March 11-12 from 20:00 pm.
Vietnamese audiences will have a chance to enjoy one of the most important works by Richard Strauss “the Concerto for Oboe and Small Orchestra” with the participation of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the oboist Stefan Schilli, who will perform the Oboe Concerto solo.
A selection of works by composer Richard Strauss Cycle will be performed for the first time in Vietnam.
The concert evening will begin with the overture “Nguoi ve dem toi ngay vui” (“They who brought happiness to us”) by the Vietnamese composer Trong Bang, who dedicated the work to President Ho Chi Minh. It will be followed by three pieces from Richard Strauss: first the Oboe Concerto, a work that is thoroughly chamber music, full of joy and reminiscences of the life’s work of a great composer, but a great challenge for the soloist.
The symphonic poems “Don Juan” and “Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche” will follow. Passionate and full of dark romanticism, “Don Juan” illustrates the character of a womanizer. “Till Eulenspiegel”, in contrast, is cheeky and fleet-footed when describing the folk hero’s merry pranks.
Tickets can be purchased at: Hanoi Opera House, No 1 Trang Tien; Sketch Travel Hanoi, No 3.Stock, Lancaster, 20 Nui Truc street (04.3944 9510); and Shop P, No 8 Nha Chung street (04.3928 6588 – Vietnamese/ 0168 514 4746 – Japanese).
Audiences can get free tickets by booking through 0913489858 or 0983067996.
