The characters in Film



(Cinet)- “The children of the village,” the latest movie by director Nguyen Duc Viet, with the theme of the post-war period has been released in the program CGV Art House.


The plot begins in 1965 taking places in a village belonging the Middle of Viet Nam during the period of fierce war. One day, the head of the village unexpectedly led the puppet soldiers knocked on the bridge and killed more than half of the village on a river. Mr Thap (character of excellent artist Trung Anh) being a guerrilla commander was seriously injured between bloody river after that massacre.


20 years later, the country was peaceful. Mr. Thap , now being the head of the village, have never forgotten the old massacre, as do not forget it. Although the head of the village was dead for a long time , he still does not forgive. He also forced the villagers to excavate his tomb in time of anniversary of his death. The district built a cement bridge for the village but it was unfinished due to lack of funding.


Dong (character of Tran Bao Son) – the son of headman’s village living far from the country, now offered to finish the bridge for the village in order to exhume his father’s tomb but have been in some troubles. Buoi, a beautiful ferrywoman, the daughter of Mr. Thap, loved the young president of communal but being a unfaithful lover, ignored sincere love of Be (Huy Cuong), a rocker, but very nice.


Time gone by, Mr.Thap was always fighting against evils, especially when he said the president of communalblocked money for building the bridge. Then the old enemy was stripped, the bridge was built and completed. Sincere lovewas paid off. The children of the village, whoever, they can still be the children of the village, coming together and build their village a better day.


“The children of the village” and “Flapping in nowhere ” are two works were chosen to represent Vietnam to compete at the 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival in November, 2014. “The children of the village” will also compete at the 2015 Golden Kite Day on 12th March.
