(VOV) – The Bangkok-Thua Thien Hue first direct flight carrying 161 Thai passengers arrived at Phu Bai Airport on March 18.
The 100 Thai business representative delegation led by Bangkok Governor Paribatra Sukhumbhand made a three-day tour of Thua Thien-Hue to seek investment and cooperation opportunities.
Thua Thien-Hue province People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Cao descried the delegation’s visit as a contribution to forging cooperative and friendly relations between the two nations, particularly between Thua Thien-Hue and Bangkok.
It also gives the central province a good chance to promote its potential and strength thus providing promising prospects for cooperation with Thai businesses.
During the 18-20 March visit of the Bangkok delegation, the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding on strengthening cooperation and friendly ties and organise a forum on Thai investment into Thua Thien Hue province.
Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Director Phan Tien Dung said 140 passengers also took a charter flight from Phu Bai Airport to Bangkok on the same day.
Thailand’s NewGen Airways managing the air route pledged to take the test run and subsidize for one year. If charter flights are successful, it will offer a new opportunity for both sides to stimulate tourism development.
