(VOV) – The Vietnamese embassy in Australia and the Vietnamese Student Association in Canberra took part in the 18th multicultural festival held by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) in Canberra from February 13-15.

This is the first time the Vietnamese embassy in Australia participated in the festival to promote Vietnamese culture. During the festival, visitors were enthralled by Vietnam’s culinary arts and culture such as spring rolls and bread as well as Vietnamese women’s traditional costume Ao Dai.

Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs Giulia Jones MLA highlighted the participation of the Vietnamese embassy staff and Vietnam’s culinary arts and culture which has added colour to the ethnic and cultural diversity in Canberra. She expressed hope that the Vietnamese embassy will join the festival regularly to help Australian people learn more about Vietnam and its people.

On the occasion, the embassy’s staff and Vietnamese students introduced unique characteristics of Vietnam’s Lunar New Year festival to Australian and international visitors.

The multicultural festival in Canberra is one of Australia’s largest annual cultural activities, which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors in the country and from abroad.
