President Sang extends his New Year greetings to Professor, Labor Hero Doctor Nguyen Chan Hung


NDO – President Truong Tan Sang on February 16 visited and extended New Year greetings to outstanding intellectuals and artists in Ho Chi Minh City.


President Sang visited and extended his New Year greetings to Professor, Labor Hero Doctor Nguyen Chan Hung, who is President of the Vietnam Cancer Association. The president highly praised Professor Hung’s efforts to Vietnamese medicine, especially cancer treatment.


President Sang expressed his hope that Professor Hung and his colleague will continue to make important contributions to drive the development of Vietnamese medicine and cancer treatment system.


On the same day, President Sang also visited and extended his New Year greetings to 95 year-old researcher Nguyen Dinh Dau, who is famous in the field of geography and history and is a dedicated scientist who has made important contributions to Vietnam’s sciences.


President Sang highly appreciated his devotion to conducting research on Vietnam’s territory and collecting old maps about Vietnam’s sea and islands, including those drawn by the Vietnamese, Chinese and people from western countries.


The President also visited and extended his New Year greetings to People’s artist Kim Cuong, who is Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsor Association for the Disabled and the Orphaned.


Highly appreciating the effort of People’s artist Kim Cuong, President Sang affirmed that the artists are an important force in preserving and promoting the country’s culture.


Thanks to the attention of the Party and State, the professor, researcher and artist affirmed that they will continue their work.
