An inauguration ceremony of the passenger terminal of Vinh Airport in the northern province of Nghe An was hed in January 31 by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and the provincial People’s Committee.
The passenger terminal covering about 11,700 square meters will be developed, together with lighting and water supply systems. It will meet the travel demand of passengers by 2022 with a capacity of two million passengers per year.
During peak hours, the terminal can cater for 1,000 passengers
In addition, aircraft parking areas, access roads and parking plot will aslo opened to the public.
The project worth VND1, 200 billion was invested by the AVC’s Development Investment Fund and kicked off in April, 2013.
Flights of the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will arrive in the new terminal since February 1.
The carrier has operated 10 round-trip flights per week from Hanoi to Vinh, 21 round-trip flights per week from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh and 5 round-trip flights per week from Da Nang to Vinh.
Vietnam Airlines will add more 22 one-way flights from Hanoi to Vinh and 89 one-way flights on HCM City-Vinh route.
