VOV President Nguyen Dang Tien reviewed the achievements and development of VOV after 70 years. VOV has developed into a multimedia agency which includes 6 radio channels, 2 TV channels, print, online news papers and overseas service program.
(VOV) -National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung visited Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Vietnam Television (VTV) on February 13 on the occasion of lunar New Year (Tet).
The top legislator expressed his hope that VOV will continue to diversify its radio and TV programs especially the National Assembly TV channel. He stressed that the communication must be precise and serves the effort to boost national unity for socio-economic development.
During a visit to the Vietnam Television station, Hung praised VTV’s achievements in communications efforts and remarked that the programs should further cover National Assembly activities. In the integration process, VTV needs to update its content and technologies to communicate political, socio-economic, cultural events as well as the government’s resolutions and the Party’s guidelines to the people.
VTV General Director Tran Binh Minh highlighted significant achievements and developments of the Government-run television agency. VTV currently has 54 subsidiaries and a total staff of more than 3,700.
The Chairman called at the headquarters of the newly-established TV channel of the National Assembly, where he sent Lunar New Year greetings to all National Assembly deputies, people, soldiers and voters nationwide via the channel.
On the same day, while meeting with staff of the NA Committees to mark the new year, the NA leader hailed the contributions of the National Assembly staff in 2014 which helped raise the efficiency of the legislative body and contribute to socio-economic development.
He said in 2015 the country will experience important political and historical events, requiring NA staff to exert their greatest effort in legislative work and boost the implementation of the Constitution and NA resolutions.
