Major Facebooker fest to run in Ho Chi Minh City this week

A Facebooker festival, thought to be the first large-scale such event in Vietnam, will be organized in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

The fest, organized by Lifestyle, a local magazine, is set to take place at 6:00 pm at Grand Palace, 142/18 Cong Hoa Street in Tan Binh District.

The event, believed to be the country’s first major gathering of Facebookers, will see the appearance of celeb users of the world’s most popular social network and bring virtual acquaintances to real life.

The festival will also honor significant statuses which are highly influential among local netizens.

Several noted Facebookers will also share their experiences of being the target of common flames.

The organizer will also set aside ample special space so that participants can take “selfies” and “wefies,” which are photos they take of themselves.

Local artists who are Facebook buffs will also perform at the event.
