NDO – A Spring Flower Festival kicked off in Da Lat city on February 14 as the opening event of a series of programmes to welcome Tet (lunar New Year) festival.
The two-week long flower festival gathers 71 individual and collective businesses, who bring to the event tens of thousands of kinds of flowers, flower installations, ornamental trees and bonsais.
Various activities are also being staged during Tet festival, including arts performances, calligraphy displays, lantern and Tet greeting cards, martial arts competitions, folk games, and rural markets at Lam Dong provincial Culture Centre.
Two entertainment services were also launched at Mong Mo Hill tourist site. The first one is a “Maze of Love”, featuring 40,000 trees rearranged in in a huge heart shape in a total area of 4,000 square metres. The second one is the “Bride of Locks”, where couples are free to attach their locks to the bridge as a memory of their love and to convey their wish for an everlasting relationship.
A Spring Press Festival is being held at Hoa Binh site, drawing the participation of 25 press agencies from across the country with numerous publications, including spring and Lunar New Year editions. After being displayed at the event until February 24, all of the publications will be presented to soldiers stationed at Navy Zone 4 and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
Visitors to Da Lat are also invited to spring greeting programmes and festivals to pray for good luck in love, celebrated by ethnic groups in Da Lat city and its surrounding region.
