VN Women’s Football Championship begins in March

The National Women’s Football Championship will be kicked off on March 5 with seven participating teams, one more than the previous years.

Thai Son Bac will sponsor the National Women’s Football Championship, which will start in March, for three years.

Tao Dan FC from HCM City are the newest squad, who are likely to be a breath of fresh air in the championship that is also known as the Thai Son Bac Cup.

The tournament will be held in two phases in HCM City and Ha Nam Province.

The first leg will be held from March 5 to 23, and the second leg from June 21 to July 12.

The winners will walk away with VND300 million (US$14,300), a 50 per cent increase compared to last year’s prize.

Host HCM City will play Viet Nam Coal-Minerals in the opening match.

Last year, Ha Noi 1 successfully defended their tournament title in August.
