PANO – Nearly 200 photos featuring voluntary activities of youths in various fields are being showcased at an exhibition themed “Proud of 15 years volunteer youth movement” opened on January 15th in Hanoi by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee.
The displayed masterpieces reflect good deeds of volunteer youths in campaigns and programs as Voluntary Saturday, Green Sunday, Pink Holiday, Traffic Safety Month, Giving Strength to Students During University Entrance Exams, Cultural Light in Summer, Spring at Borders, and Tet on Islands.
Those activities have not only contributed to national socio-economic development, social welfare guarantee, but also brought in spiritual values and virtue for youths with pure heart, intelligence and high determination.
Before the exhibition, the organizing board handed over awards to best writings of the writing contest under the theme “Good examples of volunteer youths” launched more than four months ago.
The contest received nearly 1,100 entries highlighting efforts of groups and individuals in socio-economic development, social welfare, building new-style rural areas, urban civilization in different areas, especially in impoverished ones, in border areas and on islands.
One first, one second, two third and five consolation prizes were presented to the best entries. Notably, the People’s Security Academy was named the unit with highest number of quality entries.
