Korean business invests in high-quality rice in Tay Ninh

A Korean business has announced a plan to funnel nearly 20 billion VND (950,000 USD) into a high-quality rice growing area in southern Tay Ninh province.

An agreement to this effect was signed between a local subsidiary of Taekwang Vina Industrial Joint Stock Company and the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on January 22.

The project, to be carried out across 240 hectares in An Thanh commune, Ben Cau border district, will aim to build a flood-proof embankment and irrigation system as well as procure relevant machinery.

Advanced and modern technologies will be applied in the production under the consultation of experts and technicians, said the department’s Deputy Director Nguyen Thai Son, adding that cooperatives will also be established with participation of local farmers to ensure high efficiency and productivity.

Taekwang Vina Industrial Joint Stock Company has funded a Nike shoes manufactory with annual capacity of 10 million pairs, creating 15,000 jobs for local workers, among other significant investment projects in the locality.-VNA
