A low pressure area which formed off the southernmost Vietnamese province of Ca Mau is moving west, bringing inclement weather to the southern coast, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said on Saturday.

The low pressure system is moving at 5-10 kph, sending showers and thunderstorms to the coast from the south-central province of Binh Thuan to the southern province of Kien Giang, the center said.
There may be strong winds and squalls during rainstorms, the center warned, adding that it is closely monitoring the movement of the system.
Meanwhile, a cold snap has covered most of the mountainous provinces in northern Vietnam as of this morning, the center said.
The cold weather will spread to other northern provinces today before moving south to the north-central province of Thanh Hoa and then to Thua Thien-Hue Province in the central region, bringing medium to heavy rains along the way.
Due to the cold front, showers have occurred in many northern provinces, while the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern part of the East Vietnam Sea are experiencing rough seas and strong winds of 49 kph and gusts of up to 74 kph.
