(VOV) – Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Director General Nguyen Dang Tien hopes that Indian Ambassador Preeti Saran will serve as a bridge strengthening cooperation between VOV and Indian broadcasting agencies.
At a reception for Ambassador Saran in Hanoi on October 8, Tien said since its establishment nearly 70 years ago, VOV has developed strongly in four types of media: radio, television, printed newspaper and online newspaper. VOV aims to develop into the country’s leading multimedia group.
He emphasised Vietnam and India have developed fine strategic cooperation in recent years and share similarities in culture. Vietnamese people know India through different information channels, particularly cinematography and culture.
VOV has had established relations with All India Radio (AIR) since 2003, however, the ties have not lived up to expectations.
Tien said VOV wants to sign cooperative agreements with Indian partners, whose broadcasts include both radio and television.
For her part, Ambassador Saran spoke highly of a VOV initiative on setting up cooperative ties with Indian communication agencies and pledged to do her utmost to boost cooperation with VOV.
