Covering 140 square meters on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, ‘The Chapel’ was built on a tight budget, using recycled material. The coldness of the metal frames was soften by multi-layer colorful curtains arranged in the open areas, with wood used on the floors and furniture for a rustic look.
The Chapel is designed to be a place for people, especially youth, to have conferences, weddings, exhibitions, or a coffee and snack.
The project beat out the 16 other category winners, announced on the first two days of the three-day festival, to earn the title.
Vietnamese architects also brought home the Completed Buildings – House award for ‘House for Trees’ and the Completed Buildings – Hotel and Leisure award for ‘Son La Restaurant‘, both designed by Vo Trong Nghia Architects Company.
