Nhan Dan – Over 100 local and international artists and musicians are staging the first Monsoon Music Festival 2014 at Hanoi’s Thang Long Imperial Citadel from October 2-4.
The schedule of performance for Vietnamese and foreign artists in the international music festival – one of major cultural activities to celebrate Hanoi’s 60th Liberation Day (October 10), was announced by the organising board yesterday.
With the goal of dealing a blow of fresh air of modern music to the capital audience, the event, the first of its kind to take place in the capital city, will unveil a range of new music projects.
Famous Vietnamese artists, such as singers Thanh Lam and Ha Tran, Kimmese, Suboi, 5 Dong Ke, Ngu Cung, and foreign artists including percussionist Rhani Krija from Morocco, keyboard player Martin Hedin from Sweden, jazz guitarist French-Vietnamese Nguyen Le and others from Denmark, the UK, France, Belgium, the Republic of Korea and Japan will showcase their talents at the festival.
The opening ceremony starts at 6 pm Thursday and will be broadcast live on VTV channel 1 from 8.10-9.40 pm.
