(Photo by The Duong) (CPV) - Hanoi city will maintain and preserve the ceramic mosaic along the Red river dike wall to ensure the effectiveness of managing and preserving cultural values of historical works that marked the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long Hanoi. Hanoi city People’s Committee assigned the mosaic to the city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for management in September 2014 who will preserve the road according to criteria on cultural works. It was found after investigation that the mosaic, designed and put in place for the city’s millenium celebrations had suffered damaged from temperature changes. Hoan Kien district People’s Committee asked the city to maintain the work. The mosaic was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest mosaic in 2010./.
