A Singaporean girl was among the 45 passengers injured when their tourist bus crashed into a cliff in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Tuesday, killing two other passengers and the driver on the spot, local police said the same day.

The foreign victim was Melissa, 16, of Singaporean nationality.
The deadly accident occurred at about 10:00 am when the bus, which was carrying the tourists from southern Long An Province to Da Lat, was traveling through a bend on a road in Lam Dong’s Lac Duong District, leaving three people dead immediately.
While getting through the S-shaped bend, the bus hit a cluster of broken rocks on the left of the road. The vehicle rebounded back and then crashed into a cliff on the right side of the road, police reported.
The driver of the bus could have lost control over the vehicle, leading to the accident, they said, adding that the brakes might have been out of order 100 meters before the crash.
The accident killed three people on the spot, including the bus driver Pham Thanh Long, 58, of Long An, and two passengers, Phan Cong Nhat, a 44-year-old man, and Phan Thi Anh, a 55-year-old woman.
One of the passengers said most of the people on board, aged 5-69, were from Long An’s Tan An Town, which neighbors Ho Chi Minh City.
When the accident occurred, the bus was said to be on its way from Nha Trang City in the central province of Khanh Hoa to Da Lat, Lam Dong’s capital.
Of the 45 injured passengers, 32 were taken to Lam Dong General Hospital, three of whom were in critical condition, and the remaining 13 were rushed to Hoan My Da Lat Hospital.
The head and the right side of the bus were completely destroyed in the accident.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
