Nhan Dan Online – The retail price of RON92 petrol, the most common type of fuel in Vietnam, has been cut by a further VND600 per litre, the third straight time within a month.
The reduction, which pushed a litre of RON92 down to VND24,210, came following a request issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) on July 18.
Other types of fuel, including diesel, kerosene and mazut were also cut by between VND60 and VND80 per litre or kilogram.
During the two previous adjustments, petrol prices dropped by VND500 and VND330 per litre, respectively.
Retail prices reached an all-time record high of VND25,640 following a spike of VND410 on July 7.
According to MOF, refined oil products on the world market continued to see steep falls during the July 19 – August 17 period, compared with the previous 30 days.
RON92 dropped by 4.1% while others declined by 0.32-0.41%.
The world trend prompted MOF and MOIT to order fuel distributors to cut their retail prices by at least VND592 per litre for RON92 and VND51-75 for other types of fuel.
