Spectators packed the stages to watch the fifth festival of Vietnamese martial arts in central Binh Dinh Province on Saturday with the participation of over 1,500 international instructors and students.
Sixty foreign teams of 26 Vietnamese martial arts factions including Phi Long Vinh, Thuy Phap, Cuu Long Vo Dao, Tinh Vo Dao, Trang Si Dao, Viet Vo Dao, Lam Son Vo Dao and Son Long Quyen Thuat performed their elite martial arts.
Famous domestic martial arts centers including Ly Xuan Hy, Le Xuan Canh, Phan Tho and Ho Sung hosted the event, during which they showcased many of their students’ talents.
Belgian student John Phillippe of the Thuy Phap martial arts faction said, “The festival is a great chance for me to learn more about the origin of the sport I am training in.”
Different factions of Vietnamese martial arts have become well known across the world, especially in France, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Austria and the Congo.
At the event, which is annually organized in Binh Dinh, Japanese instructors and learners introduced their traditional martial arts, namely karatedo, sumo, and kendo.
