Catholic dignitaries and followers join hands to protect national security

Nhan Dan Online – Dignitaries of all religions have played an important role in encouraging followers and citizens to take part in patriotic emulation movements, raise the spirit of solidarity and engage in the locality’s economic development.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made this statement in Nam Dinh province on August 26 while chairing a conference to review 20 years of ‘the Entire People Join Hands to Protect National Security‘ movement in the Catholic community.

Deputy PM Phuc highlighted the presence of Catholic dignitaries which, he said, reflected the interest and responsibility of dignitaries and religious followers in the great national unity for national construction and defence.

The Deputy PM expressed his hope that the religious dignitaries will continue to encourage their followers to uphold solidarity, lead good secular and religious lives and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

Also at the conference, the Ministry of Public Security presented awards to a number of Catholic dignitaries and followers for their achievements in implementing the campaign over past years.
