(Cinet)- The 1st “Asia – Europe” New Music Festival will be held in Hanoi and Ha Long city, in Quang Ninh province from October 8-12, aims to introduce new works composed by outstanding musicians in the world.
The festival will feature a series of concert in various genres, including symphonic music, auditorium, traditional music, opera, ballet, chorus and youth music.
A symphony programme will open the festival at 7.30pm at Hanoi Opera House on October 08. Then, two programmes on Vietnam and international music will be performed at the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM) on October 09-10. Another programme will be held in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on October 11 to offer youth music and traditional performances and the festival will conclude with a gala concert at Hanoi Opera House on October 12.
The 1st “Asia-Europe” New Music Festival in Vietnam-2014 is a significant international music festival initiated by Vietnam Musicians Association to continue the success of International New Music Festival: “Europe-Asia” founded by Ministry of Culture, Union of Composers of Russian Federation and Union of Composers of Tatarstan in 1993.
This Music Festival has international prestige, which is fully acknowledged and commended by the music world. The Festival becomes the meeting place of outstanding compositions of composers and performing artists and the place for exchanging professional experiences.
On this occasion, musicians and artists can acquire the quintessence of new music, promote their nations’ contemporary music simultaneously and make contributions to enhancing the partnership, cooperation and cultural development between Vietnam and Asian-European countries.
“Asia-Europe”New Music Festival 2014 is a significant world -scale event firstly held in Vietnam by Vietnam Composers Association under the direction of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Central Propaganda Department.
