200 photos about Hoang Sa and Truong Sa on show in Ho Chi Minh city Related image(s)
As many of 200 photos of the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands selected for inclusion in a picture book by photographer, Nguyen A, are on display at Ho Chi Minh city Youth Culture House from August 10. Each photo reflects the life and toil of fishermen and the daily life and struggle of soldiers who defend national sovereignty over sea and islands. In particular, focus are the close-up photos of the ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard and those from the Vietnam Fisheries Resources Surveillance. All ships were on duty at sea when Chinaillegally placed its drilling rig, Haiyang Shiyou 981, in the East sea bed. Photographer, Nguyen A, said that the photo collection was gathered during his five field trips to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa since 2010. Exchanges between the various representatives from the Vietnamese navy soldiers, the Vietnam Fisheries Resources Surveillance and of course the fishermen from their traditional fishing grounds in the region will be held during the exhibition. On this occasion, Nguyen A also made public the picture book with more than 1,000 photos from the islands, which was published by Hong Duc Publisher. The exhibition will run until August 16./. |
