Vietnam’s gasoline prices reach record high

State-owned Petrolimex, Vietnam’s leading fuel importer and distributor, on July 7 increased the price of 92-octane (92 RON) gasoline by 410 VND to 25,640 VND (1.2 USD) per litre, prompted by jumping world oil prices.


The highest-ever price of 92 RON in Vietnam is the fifth hike since the beginning of the year and the second increase in the last two weeks.


The price of high-grade 95RON also increased by 410 VND to a record high of 26,410 VND per litre.


According to Ministry of Finance statistics, the base price of 92 RON, the most commonly used form of gasoline in Vietnam, was now 918 VND, or 4.7 cents, higher than the per litre selling price.



Its diesel price also went up by 294 VND per litre to 22,820 VND, or 1.08 USD per litre, while its kerosene price increased by 413 VND per litre to 22,950 VND, or 1.09 USD, per litre.-VNA
