Thai drug trafficker arrested at Tan Son Nhat Airport

(VOV) – Customs officials at Tan Son Nhat International Airport have detained a foreign national and seized nearly 3.97 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of VND25 billion.

Pantimoong Narisara, a Thai woman was arrested on charges of smuggling illegal drugs into Vietnam. Narisara told officials she hid the cocaine in her suitcases and transported it through many nations before arriving in Vietnam on a flight from Qatar.

The case is still under investigation.

So far this year, customs officials at Tan Son Nhat Airport have discovered three cases of drug trafficking and seized 9 kilograms of illegal contraband valued at VND58 billion.
