Oldest person recognized by Vietnam Records Organization

(VOV) – Nguyen Thi Tru – 121 years old – a resident of Da Phuoc commune, Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City, is the oldest living person of record in Vietnam, announced the Vietnam Records Organization.

In 2011, she was first recognized as the oldest person in the country. After three years, the organization has found no evidence to contradict the record.

Tru had 11 sons and daughters, four of them are still alive. She now lives with her youngest son’s family.

The oldest living woman of record in the world is currently Misao Okawa from Japan, who is reportedly 116 years old.

The Vietnam Records Organization will ask the Guinness World Records to recognize Tru as the oldest living woman in the world.

It will also seek and announce records on the oldest living man, the oldest married couple and the oldest twin in Vietnam in the future.
