(CPV) – The final match of the national women’s volleyball championship 2014, in Bac Lieu gymnasium on July 23, once again witnessed the domination of the Lien Viet Postbank club. Its rival was the VTV Binh Dien Long An Club, who are said to have the nation’s best setter, Nguyen Ngoc Hoa. Fans enjoyed a lot of heartbreaking moments in the match. The two sides virtually equal to each other throughout, each taking 2 sets, before the decisive 5th. Lien Viet PostBank won the 1st and 3rd sets (25-16, 25-16) while VTV Binh Dien Long An leveled the match taking the 2nd and 4th sets (27-25, 25-23). Entering the final set, coach Pham Van Long, got a lot of tactics right letting his team take the final set 15-8, and the game was won. This is the 3rd consecutive victory for the Lien Viet PostBank, and it’s 8th national championship since 2004. In the last 11 national tours, this club just failed to lift the cup in 2007, 2009 and 2011, hard to beat. By winning this title, Lien Viet PostBank became Vietnam’s representative to play at the 2015 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship on the Asia Women’s Volleyball Clubs Tour.
