On July 22, in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh museum coordinated with the Vietnam Military History Museum and the National Border Committee to open an exhibition titled “President Ho Chi Minh with Vietnam’s sea and islands“.


The exhibition is divided into three main parts, including Vietnam’s sovereignty over the sea and islands in historical periods, President Ho Chi Minh with Vietnam’s sea and islands, and Vietnam’s sea and islands in the present cause of national development.


Nearly 200 maps, diagrams, photos, documents and artifacts introduce historical evidence and legal foundations on Vietnam’s sovereignty in the East sea and over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes.


Addressing the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duc, Temporary Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum, said that when President Ho Chi Minh was alive, he always had a love for the people and army in coastal regions, especially navy soldiers. This was expressed through his letters, writings, and by what he expressed when visiting navy forces and people in coastal provinces and cities.


President Ho Chi Minh not only affirmed the position and role of navy and armed forces that protect the sea and islands, but also gave talks on the potential of Vietnam’s sea and responsibilities of future Vietnamese generations to exploit, manage and protect the sea, then, and in the future./.
