(Cinet)- A young opera Vietnamese virtuoso Dao To Loan took part in an international training course (which is named after Norwegian artist Lidal Johnson) in Oslo, Norway, from July 4 – 19, as part of a Norwegian Government-funded project “Transposition” to boost musical cooperation between the two countries.

Loan graduated from the Hanoi-based Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2014, she won a prize voted by professionals and another by the audience at a competition concluding the course.

Launched in 2007, the Norwegian Government-funded project “Transposition” aims to help nurture Vietnamese musical talents and enhance bilateral cooperation in the field.

It is now involving five musical institutions from Vietnam and seven others of Norway .

More than 250 joint activities have been held so far, for example concerts, opera and ballet performances, workshops, and training courses in many cities of both countries.

According to Artistic Director Geir Johnson, the course will be opened this August in Ho Chi Minh City to give training to some 20 young talents from across Vietnam . The project is also assisting over 20 Vietnamese institutions in arts management and planning to expand their collaboration in the coming time.
