According to Le Van Danh, deputy head of the department, they have provided assistance to all businesses that lost files, documents and seals during social disturbances earlier this month to complete procedures and ensure their import-export activities are conducted on schedule.
The department asked the management boards of industrial zones to promptly calculate the damage the businesses had suffered from the disturbances in order to give them tax exemption and extension, he said.
It also exempted and reduced import and added value taxes for damaged materials and machines, he added.
For those with destroyed seals, the agency accepted unsealed documents for 30 days.
According to reports delivered by enterprises, about 8,000 social insurance books belonging to more than 10 companies in Nhon Trach, Long Thanh and Bien Hoa Industrial Zones had been lost during the disturbances.
The provincial social insurance agency said it will re-issue the lost books if the businesses require.
The disturbances erupted during workers’ rallies in protest of China’s illegal placement of its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou – 981 in Vietnam’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone from early May.
Some extremists incited others to destroy the property of foreign firms, as well as some belonging to the State, national businesses and individuals, and acted against law enforcement officials, disrupting social order and business activities.
Dong Nai authorities have so far commenced legal proceedings against 241 arrestees involved in 22 criminal cases of “causing social disturbance“, “destroying property,” “stealing property,” “openly appropriating property,” and “resisting on-duty officials”.-VNA
