Vietnamese films on Dien Bien Phu victory on screen in Laos

Nhan Dan Online -Eight Vietnamese films on the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 1954) will be introduced during Vietnamese Film Week in Laos, scheduled from May 5 – 11.

This was announced at a press conference held in Lao capital city of Vientiane on April 29.

he films, include three documentaries and five feature films, truthfully reflect the hard but glorious struggle of Vietnamese people against foreign invaders, as well as the courage and creativity of Uncle Ho’s soldiers during the Dien Bien Phu campaign.

The cinematic works also depict the solidarity among Vietnamese and Lao people and army and their support to each other to gain national independence.

The week, held jointly by the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Laos, Vietnam Film Institute and the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, aims to inspire patriotism among Vietnamese people who are living in Laos, while promoting the special relations between the two countries.
