Throughout the long history, Vietnamese women have always played an important role in constructing and defending the nation. Nowadays, Vietnam women in general and Phu Yen women in particular continue to lighten up the flames of “Long-hair Army”, “Three responsibilities”, the spirit of patriotism, unity, creativity, bravery, wisdom, to positively contribute to the social activities in the national innovation, gradually helping create the image of modern women in Vietnam. In particular, implementing the project “Propagating, educating Vietnam women’s quality and morality in the period of accelerating the national modernization and industrialization” (2010-2015 period), deployed by the Central Vietnam Women’s Union, Phu Yen women have affirmed their roles in the family and in society, contributing to implementing the objectives for the advancement of women and gender-equality promotion.
Entering the stage of constructing and developing the country, the activeness, dynamic, self-confidence, self-esteem of women is highlighted. The four core ethics of “Self-confidence, self-respect, kindness, diligence” have not denied the historical values but inherited and promoted the traditional values in the new context. After 4 years of implementation, the project has gradually come to life, each female member of Phu Yen Women Union has nonstop learnt, practiced under the above 4 good virtues.
Women in modern time have undertaken jobs in society, completing the obligations in their family. They need to have confidence in their abilities, dare to think, dare to do, scientifically work, proactively solving work in the life and career. They must also respect their dignity and honor, observing the law in self-discipline, solidarity, mutual assistance, with obvious view, political opinions; having patriotic spirit, sharing, caring about the interests of the community; building good relationships with their relatives and regularly caring and educating children for happy family. Through the active contribution of Phu Yen women during recent years, Standing Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Union, Mrs. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien, said: Women Phu Yen have promoted the spirit of overcoming difficulties, dynamic, creativity, pioneering, exemplary in all areas of social life. They do not only well-do economy, but are also good mothers and mild wives. Phu Yen women have reaffirmed the roles and position of women forces and union in performing the tasks of politics, economy-society, national defense-security in Phu Yen province, positively contributing to the overall success of the women’s movement and the work of the national association.
