(VOV) – On May 6, the Vietnam Red Cross (VRCS) presented the “For the cause of humanity” insignia to three foreign representatives in recognition of their contribution to humanitarian activities in Vietnam.
The attendees were Marta Alejano, Giuseppe Ungaro and Paul Van Deer Lan,chief representatives from the Spanish Red Cross, the Italian Red Cross and the Netherlands Red Cross in Vietnam respectively.
Doan Van Thai, VRCS Vice Chairman and General Secretary expressed his wish that the representatives always considered Vietnam a reliable location for Red Cross activities and continue their support for charity activities as well as helping successors fullfil future tasks in the country.
Chief Representative of the Spanish Red Cross project office, Marta Alejano thanked VRCS staff for their sentiments over the past years in Vietnam, noting that she would share Vietnam’s success in supporting victims of natural disasters and Agent Orange (AO) as well as achievements in humanitarian activities with people around the world.
Over the past years, these Red Cross organizations have actively assisted Vietnam in implementing charitable activities by engaging in in projects to improve hygiene and the environment, help poor people develop production, and prevent natural disasters in many provinces and cities nationwide.
