(Cinet)- Vietnam Museum of Ethnology has received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.com – a world’s largest travel website.



Based on more than 1,500 reviews by travellers on the TripAdvisor website, the museum maintained an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five.


To earn the paper, a destination must attain an overall rating of 4 points and over, which is based on reviews and ratings from millions of travellers using the website over the past 12 months.


Ealier, with this year’s rating of 4.5 points, the same level as 2012 and 2013, the museum has been named one of Hanoi ‘s most attractive destinations.


Since early 2014, the museum has welcomed 200,000 visitor arrivals, of which 40 percent were from abroad.


Established in 1997, it has served as a research centre and a public museum with a mission to collect, document, preserve and exhibit the cultural heritages of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.


The museum is preserving over 29,000 exhibits, including around 25,000 on Vietnamese ethnic communities that reflect every aspect of their tangible and intangible culture, fuelling national solidarity and pride, while raising awareness of equality between ethnic groups.
